A native Texan, Dr. Larsen is a combination of clinical child psychologist, author, and college professor.

For over thirty years, he has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. Practicing in Andover, Massachusetts he has seen "twelve thousand children, adolescents and families."

Educated at Baylor University in Texas, but transplanted to New England by way of Yale Divinity School, Dr. Larsen began his career as a pastor leaving the active ministry to earn his doctorate in clinical psychology from Boston University.

He has written a book entitled Parents and Families - Reports of Their Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated.

Dr. Larsen has taught at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, Boston University, and has been visiting lecturer at other institutions in the area. He has spoken to numerous groups including the New England Librarians, faculties of numerous school systems, and various conventions including those of the United Press International in New England.

In addition to being published in various professional journals, his remarks have been nationally reported in UPI releases, USA Today, and other periodicals. He has spoken on several family programs on Boston and Rhode Island television as well as on the CBS Radio Network. Married and the father of two children, Dr. Larsen makes his home in Andover, Massachusetts.

For the last nineteen years he has written a column, "Family Matters," for the Lawrence Eagle Tribune. The column uses "cracker barrel psychology" making ordinary family problems the focus of helpful professional and human insight. It enjoys a wide readership.
